HOW TO OBTAIN A VISA TO SAUDI ARABIA?

In this article, we present the main types of visas that may be required for travel to Saudi Arabia. This will help you easily determine which one you need. Once you have chosen the appropriate visa, click on it below to find out more details.

Our travel agency is one of two agencies authorised to manage Saudi Arabian visa applications.
We recommend that first you read the section relevant to you, and then contact us through the following channels:

If based on your nationality, you are eligible for a tourist e-visa, you can apply for it on the official Saudi e-visa Web site (https://visa.visitsaudi.com/) after registration. On the same Web site, you will also find the list of countries whose citizens are currently eligible to apply for a tourist visa online.

If your country is not on the list, please call the phone number 06 80 080 596, where you will be informed whether you can apply for the visa online, upon arrival at a Saudi airport, or if you need to obtain an Embassy visa. If you need an embassy visa, please continue reading the section relevant to you.

VISA APPLICATION PROCESS

  1. Please send us your visa application request by e-mail.
  2. We are going to send you the necessary information by e-mail.
  3. Please visit our office by appointment to bring in your required documents, and to make your visa fee payment. (The fee is payable in cash, in USD.)
  4. We check that all documents are in order, and meet Embassy requirements.
  5. We start your visa application.
  6. We meet you at the Embassy in Budapest by appointment, escort you inside, and we hand in your documents.
  7. Your original documents (that are not required by the Embassy) will be returned to you after your Embassy visit.
  8. Approved visas are sent to the e-mail address listed on the application form, and must be printed out.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE

  1. The documents listed below are required as per the Embassy’s regulations, and they may change.
  2. The visa fee is non-refundable.
  3. A visa application does not guarantee visa issuance.
  4. The Embassy may require additional documents from you.
  5. It is at the Embassy’s discretion when and if the visas are issued, and whether single-entry or multiple-entry visas are granted.
  6. The Embassy accepts certified translations issued only by OFFI (the official Hungarian translation agency), where translation is needed, and document is not in English or in Arabic.
  7. The required documents are accepted by our agency only in printed form.
  8. Applicants are responsible that all their documents are valid as per regulations, and that all information provided is truthful. Our agency shall not be liable for refusal of visas in any event and for any reason.
  9. The Immigration Officer at the port of entry in the KSA may refuse entry into the country to any person if they consider that the individual does not fulfill the immigration requirements, or the individual’s presence in the country would be contrary to national interests and security.
  10. Please check the Web site below for important information on entering and the staying in the KSA:
    https://konzinfo.mfa.gov.hu/en/travel-tips-by-country/saudi-arabia
  11. The visa fee includes mandatory insurance, which is limited and covers only emergency care, so we recommend that you purchase full-coverage insurance.

Important! Starting from January 2, 2024 visa stickers are no longer issued by the Embassy. Instead, visas are sent by e-mail to the visa applicants.

Once all necessary documents are delivered in our office, the entire process takes about 3-6 business days. (This is only an estimate, and it may take longer depending on factors such as holidays, if the Embassy requires further documents from you, and at the Embassy’s discretion.)

It is also important to note when planning your travel that the business processes may take longer during the month of Ramadan, in Saudi Arabia and in Hungary as well.

TOURISM VISIT VISA

You will need a tourism visit visa if you are visiting Saudi Arabia as a tourist, and you may also need this visa if you are transiting and you are flying with a low-cost carrier (like WizzAir, for example) and you may need to switch terminals.

Nationals of the countries listed on the https://visa.visitsaudi.com/ Web site can obtain their visa 2 ways:

1. Online, on the https://visa.visitsaudi.com/ Web site.
2. On arrival at the Saudi airport.

For the online visa application, the uploaded passport image should be very low resolution (5–10KB), so it can fit into the image window.

If you are transiting, in the visa application under the Saudi accommodation section, write the name and address of the airport.

Both the e-visa and the visa on arrival must be paid for by bank or credit card.

With a tourist visa you may also perform Umrah, but only outside the Hajj period. Important information regarding Umrah can be found on the https://www.nusuk.sa/ Web site.

If your country is not on the list mentioned above, please first call the phone number 06 80 080 596, where they will tell you whether you can apply for the visa online, obtain it on arrival at a Saudi airport, or whether you will need an embassy visa.

  1. If you are eligible for an e-visa, you can apply on the https://visa.visitsaudi.com/ Web site.
  2. If you can obtain a visa on arrival, contact the airline with which you will be flying into the country to confirm whether they allow boarding without a visa.
  3. If you need an embassy visa, please read the information regarding the tourism visit visa. (The Embassy will decide at its own discretion whether the visa is issued for single or multiple entry.)

You may apply for the transit visa on the https://visa.mofa.gov.sa/ Web site. Certain Saudi airlines also offer a transit/stop-over visa with the tickets. Please check with your airline for further details.
